Woo Lee-kyung worked as a secretary at a major law firm. There, she fell in love with Byun-hyuk who was a rising star attorney at the firm. The two continued their love and eventually lived together for years. However, the love didn't last as one day Byun-hyuk left without warning and took just about everything he owned with him. All Lee-kyung had left of himn were his law books from school. The heartbroken Lee-kyung used the leftover books and studied day and night until she too was able to become a lawyer. Her first client is Han Min-kook who is going through a nasty divorce that could cost him $100 million. She soon discovers that the Min-kook's ex-wife is actually an old friend of hers -- Lee Ae-ri. The challenge of facing off against her friend in her first case isn't enough as Ae-ri's lawyer is none other than her old lover, Byun-hyuk.
